Why I Started Airstrip Club: A Window-Seat View of Travel, Style, and Identity

What you wear when you travel says a lot about how you travel. And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably noticed that most “travel apparel” either leans too generic, too gimmicky—or worse, forgettable. So I started Airstrip Club to create something better: a travel-inspired fashion brand for people who live to take off.

Travel Is in My Blood—and My Baggage

I was born and raised in Miami, a first-generation American with roots in two different countries. Flying wasn’t a luxury—it was a necessity. With family living abroad, the airport became a second home. I can still picture myself as a kid, standing by the terminal windows, watching 747s roar into the sky like they were rewriting gravity. The thrill of takeoff, the views from cruising altitude, the jolt of landing—I already had a passport, and a reason to use it.

I’ve always chosen the window seat. Not just for the view, but for the reminder that the world is big—and there’s always something new on the horizon.

Why Not Us?

When I started looking for travel clothing that matched my love of flying, I found… not much. There were plenty of shirts that said “Wanderlust” in cursive or overly polished loungewear pretending to be fashionable. None of it felt like me. None of it felt like it belonged to us—the curious, the frequent flyers, the aisle debaters, the ones already planning the next trip before the wheels hit the ground.

So I built Airstrip Club.

A brand inspired by airports, aircraft, and altitude—but made for humans. For people who pack carry-on only, flirt at 30,000 feet, pet every dog they meet at the gate, and believe “boarding group” is a lifestyle.

Conscious Design, Clear Intentions

From the start, I knew this wasn’t just about graphics and gear. It’s about meaningful travel, too. That’s why some of our designs have a social message—like “Dogs Should Fly Free,” a shirt born out of frustration with pet travel policies and love for the four-legged copilots we often have to leave behind.

I have two Basset Hounds—long-bodied, big-eared, totally plane-unfriendly according to airline rules. Every time I leave for a trip, I wish they could curl up under the seat in front of me like any lap baby. That shirt isn’t just cheeky. It’s personal.

Every design is created with the same intentionality: clean graphics, a cheeky attitude, soft materials, and something to say.

For Those Who Live to Take Off

Airstrip Club isn’t just a brand—it’s a boarding pass for the style-conscious, the globally minded, and the mystery-chasers. Whether you’re chasing time zones or sitting still with your thoughts at Gate 31, you deserve clothes that speak your language.

This is just the beginning. We’ve got big plans on the radar—and we’re just taxiing to the runway.

For those who live to take off—welcome aboard.
